Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin ICS
We work across the 1,347 square miles of Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, serving around 500,000 people. Within our area, we have two unitary authorities – Shropshire Council and Telford & Wrekin Council. Shropshire Council covers 1,234 square miles, 91.7% of the ceremonial county of Shropshire. The area covered by Shropshire Council has a population of around 310,000 people. The rest of the area is covered by Telford & Wrekin Council. Around 170,000 live in this borough with around 150,000 living in Telford itself.
My name is Millie Moore, the PNMH Champion for the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin area.
I am a newly qualified GP and have developed an interest in perinatal mental health during my training. I believe that ensuring good quality psychological support in the perinatal period can lead to better bonding and decrease adverse childhood experiences. I hope by improving PNMH management across our region we can reduce the negative effect of these experiences, which have such a profound impact on the development of young people.
